Busy day!

Yesterday was quite a busy day and we sure did get a lot done! We started out early in the morning and went to the hotel to go over the final guest count, the room layout, etc. Everything went well there so we were off to the Cakes by Carolynn to pay the balance on the cake and to order the cupcakes we will be devouring during the "decorating party" the night before the wedding. After that, we stopped by Bonds Jewelers to see if the boutonnières were ready for pickup, and luckily for us, they were. We will be handing them out at the rehearsal dinner. Up to this point everything was going smooth, and it was off to my dance lesson. The dance "trainer" was really nice. The dance looks really pretty. I hope I dont mess it up!

Oh, while we were at the hotel earlier that morning, there was a wedding scheduled for that afternoon and my mom asked if we could peek into the room to see how they decorated. We noticed their cute ideas for their table names, so of course, we stole them. We are now changing our table theme from gemstones to movies that have something to do with weddings. The table names we have selected are: Father of the Bride, Meet the Parents, The Wedding Planner, The Wedding Singer, The Wedding Crashers, The Princess Bride, ...Ever After, The Wedding Date, and the last one has completely slipped my mind. Later this week or maybe even today, I will be posting the seating chart.

22 more days!

Oh my! Only 22 more days until I marry my best friend. Its approaching so fast!

The tuxedo shop has still left us in a heap of a mess. They found our order, however, they deleted the best man, Mathews brother, Gregory, from the wedding party. They also have his stepdad in there as part of the wedding party AND as grandfather, which he is neither. Matt is going down there tomorrow and fixing this as it needs to be taken care of immediately.

I had to remove my bridesmaid from my wedding party for a few reason, some of which are personal and do not feel like airing out over the internet. I did find my replacement, however. We went dress shopping last weekend to get her a dress. Unfortunately, things were quite hectic as nothing would fit her in the colors I needed. We didn't have time to order anything as it takes 3 weeks to come in and if she had to have something altered there would be no time to do it. The sales lady was quite out there and all over the place which didn't help my nerves. We ended up finding something that goes with my scheme. I hope Val wasn't lying to me and the dress does in fact fit and shes not just saying that to calm me down.

Here is a picture of our bridal party:

What do you think?

I have a dance lesson lined up with my dad for next Saturday. I have chosen Heartlands I loved her first as our daddy-daughter dance.

I think that is all for now. More to come later.

The Menu

The menu has been finalized! This evening, Matt and I will be meeting with the DJ we decided to go ahead and hire so our friend Brandon can just worry about having a good time.

The tuxedo place is screwing us over. They cannot find us in the computer anymore for some strange reason. I dont even know if I want to continue doing business with them or go somewhere else. Going somewhere else will present a problem as it was hard enough getting everyone together for the taking of the measurements the first time. We shall figure something out.

Here is the menu:

Appetizers:

For each table there will be a hollowed out pineapple filled with skewers of pineapple, melons and a marshmallow. They will almost look like centerpieces but they will be edible.

Cheese tray with crackers

Chicken satay skewers

Mini egg rolls

Pinwheel rolls

Buffet Menu:

Sliced roast beef with a Bearnaise sauce and served with choice of creamy horseradish or au jus

Shrimp penne pasta with Alfredo sauce

Rolled chicken breast stuffed with feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes and spinach sliced into portions over risotto with a light sauce

Fall seasonal vegetables- squash, zucchini and carrots in a butter/garlic/lemon sauce

Roasted potatoes with a dill butter sauce

Caesar salad ( no anchovies)

--------------------//--------------------

It all sounds so delicious! What do you think?

39 more days!!

The time sure is going by quickly. Whats new you ask? Well lets see, I finally got the pictures of the bouquets.

My Bouquet:

Ericas Bouquet:

Kristyns Bouquet:

The pictures really don't do them justice, but its just an idea of what they look like.

The girls gifts have been purchased. My mom went to the Swarovski store in International Mall to find them.

I am borrowing my mothers set of pearls for my something borrowed and old. But here are my earrings:

And here are the girls earrings and necklaces:

Again, because they are crystal and the light doesn't really hit them right, the pictures do not make them look all that great. Trust me, they are beautiful!

Quick Update

The bouquets are all done. They look so beautiful! My mom and dad decided to make boutonnières for the guys, they're also turning out great.

Also, I registered at Target yesterday. Just added some stuff I liked better there. So we are now registered at both Linens and Things and Target.

Oh my!

It is really starting to sink in that this is finally happening! Whats new this week, lets see...

The invitations have gone out, so we will be busy receiving the reply cards.

The M&M's were ordered.

Matt and I purchased our rings. Here they are!

Mine | Mathew's

Nice, huh?

I found some pictures of how I want my hair done.

I think that is exactly the look I want to go for.

I finally booked my photographer. Big thanks go out to my wonderful sister, Erica for referring him! He seems awesome and even agreed to come down on the price.

My mother is almost finished with all the bouquets. She is completely done with Kristyn's and Erica's. She obviously saved the best for last! ;)

I'm pretty sure thats all for now.

This update is long overdue!

First of all, we have booked our wedding and reception location, The Heritage Hotel, located downtown, near Baywalk. We have also decided to move the wedding indoors due to many reasons. The lobby area is really beautiful. It has a beautiful fireplace, the perfect spot for the wedding. The price is really affordable. We decided to go ahead and book all 3 rooms. We are able to go in and decorate the night before, saving me from having to do it the day of. Also, included in the price of booking all 3 rooms I get a free suite the night before the wedding. Erica, Kristyn, and I are going to stay there the night before to decorate. Anyone who would like to stay there following the reception, let me know as I have to book them in advance to get the block rate of $99.95 a night.

I finally got my dress! The two I picked out earlier weren't really what I expected so I had to start over and pick something else. David's Bridal got rid of the dress combination I chose for my sister, so we had to pick a different color combination. Here are the dresses:

----------------------------------
My mom has completed the centerpieces and they turned out perfect. She wont allow me to upload pictures of them, as she doesn't want random visitors stealing her idea and using it as their own.

I spoke with a mutual friend of Matt and I, Brandon, who said he is still willing to DJ our wedding, which is great news. That will save me a ton!

Invitations were printed out last weekend and will be mailed this weekend.

Mom and I will be ordering the custom made M&M's sometime in the next few weeks.

Everything seems to be falling into place. I still need a photographer, a male officiant (Matt's special request), and chair covers with sashes. Oh, and all the other little things, like gifts for the attendants, guest book, cake service, etc.

I think that is all for now. More to come later.

Pictures, Choices, etc.

Ok, that last post got a little excessive so I'm splitting it into two post.

My Dress Choices:

OR

Maid-of-Honor | Bridesmaids

CAKE:

My bouquet, the girls bouquet, and all the boutonnieres will be made of swarovski crystals. I'm not really the flower type, never have been, really. This option is both unique and beautiful.

Tis all. I welcome all thoughts and such!

Intro

Hi. I'm Megan. This journal might be a silly idea, but its at least a way for me to have my ideas down somewhere so I don't have a bunch of ideas floating around in my head and my browsers bookmarks section. It is all right here. I can also get feedback, positive or negative.

DATE: Well, first things first. My fiance', Mathew (25), and I have finally set our date, and it's in stone this time. I can't emphasis how long that took. If we would have kept our previous dates we would have been married at least 4 times already. We are getting married on Friday, November 02, 2007. We have decided to be wed around 6:00 P.M. with the reception following at 7:00 P.M.

LOCATION: Both of us were born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida, so a beach wedding sounded perfect. Unfortunately the budget didn't permit such a thing. We knew we wanted something outdoors, however, the beach seemed like the only thing. After I spent what seemed like countless hours trying to find the perfect spot just this week narrowed it down to 3 potential spots, North Straub Park (this is a picture of the view from under the trellis where the end of the isle would be), South Straub park, and the Gizella Kopsick Palm Arboretum. All 3 are close to our reception location, The Bayfront Towers. Its a private condominium complex that a friend has agreed to sponsor for us. Here is an actual inside picture of the facility. The best part about using this facility is that its FREE!

THEME/DRESS TYPE: We have both agreed on your typical wedding reception dress code. Formal yet not black tie. Our primary colors are black and white with pink and silver being used for accents.

I will make a new post shortly with pictures of my dress ideas, pictures of the maid of honor and bridesmaids dresses, the cake, and my unique bouquet!
